I have been trying to develop a language using forms thrown on the wheel for 10 years.  I started working with functional potters in high school and at my associates and gained a lot of influence from traditional Japanese song celadons and shinos mixed with new American fires of rich reduction cobalt and copper reds. My current reaction is to try and clarify the forms adding clear geometry to the natural roundness of working on the wheel and removing dynamic glazes to enhance the shadow play of the more complex forms.
